With extensive work experience in the private sector and the United Nations Environmental Program in Copenhagen, they possess strong knowledge of the circular economy, energy transition, and advancing the sustainability agenda while engaging with various stakeholders.
Michael W Mehaffy, Ph.D
Michael is a researcher, educator, author, and consultant in urban development with an international practice. He has held teaching and/or research appointments in architecture, urban planning and philosophy at nine graduate institutions in eight countries, and he is on the editorial boards of three international journals of urban design. He is also Executive Director of two US-based NGOs, the International Making Cities Livable (IMCL) conferences, and the Sustasis Foundation. He earned a doctorate in architecture from Delft University of Technology. His research focus includes urban form and greenhouse gas emissions, public space, and the New Urban Agenda.
Oscar Paz Rada M.Sc.
Oscar is an engineering professional deeply committed to the issue of climate change. His contributions as a University Lecturer and Researcher show his dedication to sustainable policymaking through his research and publications on climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction. Oscar has dedicated many years to working on the implementation of climate actions together with the Swiss Cooperation in Bolivia. As a consultant and professor, he seeks action towards the consolidation of the paradigm of a more resilient future, particularly for the most vulnerable communities.
Mónica Castro Delgadillo M.Sc.
Mónica is a senior socio-economic environmental specialist with more than 15 years of experience in assessing impacts of socio-economic activities on the environment and natural resources. Moreover, she has worked on economic valorization of ecosystem services and design of plausible financial mechanisms for the national protected areas system of Bolivia. She has also worked many years as a Senior Socio Environmental Specialist for the Interamerican Development Bank (IDB) in different countries of the Andean region. In addition, Mónica has a track record in working with different international and Bolivian institutions on environmental and socio-economic risk assessments on energy, climate change, forestry, biodiversity, agriculture and mining in Latin American countries.
